形容教羅（台羅）調號：
第一聲免調號
第二聲，像 á 用一撇（phuat，也唸做 phiat）做記號
第三聲，像 à 用一拖（thua）做記號
第四聲免調號，韻尾是 p/t/k/h 其中一个。
第五聲，像 â 用「人--字」[jîn--jī] 做記號
第六聲台語普通腔無用
第七聲，像 ā 用一劃（ui̍h / ue̍h）做記號
第八聲，像 a̍h 用一徛（khiā）做記號
台語筆劃名稱，一劃（廈、泉腔 ui̍h，漳腔 ue̍h）主要是指橫劃，直劃叫做「徛」[khiā]。hyphen 叫做「連劃 liân-ui̍h」，double hyphen 叫做「雙連劃 siang-liân-ui̍h」。
一撇、一拖、一劃、一徛，其實也是漢字「永字八法」个台語叫法在內。 我以前有寫過：對應「永字八法」漢字筆畫个台語名稱
華語「大寫字母」，台語「大本字 tuā-pún-jī」
標點符號：
形容「，」个形體：一點掛有拖尾。
形容「；」个形體：頂面一點，下面一點掛有拖尾。
形容「？」个形體：一彎徛[tsi̍t uan-khiā]，下面ke一點。
形容「！」个形體：一直徛[tsi̍t ti̍t-khiā]，下面ke一點。
形容「 “ ” 」个形體：頭前 是 兩點 掛拖尾 勾起；後面 是 兩點 掛拖尾 勾落。
以上參考 1885年八月 府城教會報、1923 廈英大辭典補篇、1931 台日大辭典，有小可仔修訂補添。
1883 John Macgowan 英廈辭典有收「tō͘-tiám」就是「 , 」，即个詞漢字thang寫做「逗點」「讀點」。「讀」佇遮愛讀勾破去聲。
1923 廈英大辭典補編 關係羅馬字標點符號个名稱：
「句點 kù-tiám」是「 ; 」，也叫做「點撇 tiám-phoat/phiat」
「大句點 toā-kù-tiám」，也叫做「兩點 nn̄g-tiám」，是「 : 」
「節點 chat-tiám」是「 . 」
「問點 mn̄g-tiám」是「 ? 」
「hāiⁿ 點」是「 ! 」
「引句點 ín-kù-tiám」是「 " " 」
遮个名稱佮近代標點號名、用法个概念無仝，西洋較古早个標點用法分四級，愈後壁个停睏愈久：

; kù-tiám 句點
: tuā-kù-tiám 大句點
. tsat-tiám 節點
「節點」比「大句點」範圍閣較大，隔開 section。
「大句點」毋是做解說个路用。
標點个用法一直演變，以上个分法，會使參考 1795 Lindley Murray 所出版个 English Grammar, Adapted to the Different Classes of Learners（銷出兩千萬本以上），內底寫講：
Punctuation is the art of dividing a written composition into sentences, or parts of sentences, by points or stops, for the purpose of marking the different pauses which the sense, and an accurate pronunciation require.
The Comma represents the shortest pause; the Semicolon, a pause double that of the comma; the Colon, double that of the semicolon; and a period, double that of the colon.
The precise quantity or duration of each pause, cannot be defined; for it varies with the time of the whole. The same composition may be rehearsed in a quicker or a slower time; but the proportion between the pauses should be ever invariable.
「hāiⁿ 點」个講法有表現出台語个氣口、特色！
