Í-sap(Aesop)寓言[gū-giân] 英台對譯練習之一

A donkey once found a Lion’s skin which the hunters had left out in the sun to dry. He put it on and went towards his native village.

一隻驢仔[lî-á]抾著儂獵戶咧曝日个一領獅皮。伊kā穿起來,著對怹莊--裡轉去。

He was a proud donkey that day. All men and animals fled at his approach, and in his delight he lifted up his voice and brayed.

迄工,伊偌tshio-tiô咧。所有个儂佮動物,看著伊行倚來,走哪飛咧。驢仔暢甲大聲叫喉[kiò-âu]。

But then, every one Knew him. His owner soon came up and gave him a sound cudgelling for the fright he had caused.

迄个sūn niā,眾儂看破伊个跤手。伊个主儂 liam著來共伊 tia̍p kah tshinn-tshioh-á tshinn-tshioh,看伊閣敢鬧動[nāu-tōng]無?

A fox, shortly afterwards, came up to him and said: “Ah, I knew you by your Voice.”

過無偌久,一隻狐狸來共驢仔講:「Ah汝一出聲,我著知知咧啦!」

Fine clothes may disguise, but silly words will disclose a fool.

媠衫予汝會假仙,毋過,gām面話 露現[lōo-hiān]汝是giàn頭。
